Developed online help: Using DxStudio, an internal Microsoft XML editor and content management system (CMS), developed online help for Dynamics AX, Microsoft’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Worked on multiple feature teams with program managers, developers, and testers. Coordinated with other writers and editors to align work with product, department, and corporate style guides.

Developed user interface text: Reviewed and approved user interface and error message text in functional specifications. Worked with program managers and user experience professionals to achieve ease of use and consistency.

Updated documentation for database administrators: Used Adobe FrameMaker to update 1600+ pages of database administrator guides and developed online help in an Eclipse integrated development environment (IDE).

Developed product guides for system administrators: Used Microsoft Word, RoboHelp, and Adobe Acrobat to develop content covering planning, customizing, and deploying MSI-based installation images and configuring and implementing security and encryption technologies.

Converted legacy documents to single source: Using Adobe FrameMaker and WebWorks Publisher, revised and converted user guides for client-server, Oracle database products to a single source format for output to PDF and online help.

Maintained user documentation set: Using RoboHelp, Microsoft Word, and Arbortext Epic XML Editor, provided customer release notes and major updates for three online help systems and six user and administrator guides for client-server, Oracle database products.

Produced printed manuals, online help, and multimedia books for financial management and reporting software used by Fortune 1000 companies. Developed user interface design documents and helped improve software usability with testers and developers.

EDS, Itronics, Valleylab Division of Pfizer. Spokane, WA and Stamford, CT. Contract Technical Writer. 01/1991 to 06/1995. Developed online and printed user guides for financial transaction and accounting systems, small business management software, handheld data capture devices, and electrosurgical and ultrasonic surgical devices.

As part of 100+ person engineering department, managed engineering documents and the development of software and hardware manuals for animating displays, scoreboards, and flight information display systems.
